Hanaa Ben Abdesslem

Hanaa Ben Abdesslem (born October 13, 1986 in Nabeul ) is a Tunisian model living in New York City .

Life

Ben Abdesslem grew up in Nabeul, on the northeast coast of Tunisia. After a model contest in Lebanon, in which she took second place, she studied mechanical engineering for a time.

After another competition in Tunisia, she was discovered by her current manager Sofie Galal and Wolfgang Schwarz. Ben Abdesslem accompanied Schwarz to Austria and was built up by him as a model.

In mid-2010 she was hired by Vogue for a photo shoot. She then modeled for designers Jean-Paul Gaultier , Karl Lagerfeld and Vivienne Westwood, among others . As the first Arab woman, Ben Abdesslem was hired by the French cosmetics company Lancôme for worldwide advertising campaigns. She also produced fashion series for Vogue fashion magazines and New York Times Style Magazine .

Ben Abdesslem was photographed by Steve McCurry in 2012 for the Pirelli calendar , the concept of which has been changed for this calendar edition and does not contain any nude photos.
