Hanako Hitachi
Princess Hanako of Hitachi ( Japanese 常 陸 宮 正 仁 親 王妃 華 子 , Hitachi-no-miya Hanako-shinnōhi ; * July 19, 1940 as Hanako Tsugaru ( 津 軽 華 子 )) is a Japanese princess .
She is the fourth daughter of Yoshitaka Tsugaru . She studied at the Gakushūin Women's University and graduated in 1961. She became engaged and married Prince Hitachi , the second son of the Shōwa emperor , on September 30, 1964 . The couple have no children.
Princess Hitachi is the president of various organizations that deal with the welfare and the arts , such as the traditional flower art of Ikebana . She has also translated several children's books from English to Japanese.

- In the novel Genji Monogatari a certain "Princess Hitachi" plays a role. In the original Japanese version she is called Suetsumuhana , but in some versions it has been translated as Princess Hitachi, as she came from Hitachi province .
