Hanna Fahlbusch-Wald

Hanna Fahlbusch-Wald (born June 8, 1948 in Tel Aviv ; † October 26, 2006 in Erlangen ) was an Austrian opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ) and Wagner interpreter .

Life

From 1963 Hanna Fahlbusch-Wald received singing lessons from Ida Vaijalo and at the Vienna Conservatory. In 1964 she began her studies at the opera school of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, which she graduated with a diploma in 1970.

Before graduating, she became a member of the Vienna Volksoper in 1969 . From 1971 to 1981 she was a member of the ensemble of the Staatstheater am Gärnterplatz in Munich and performed at the Salzburg Festival and the Bregenz Festival . In the late 1970s she switched to the highly dramatic mezzo-soprano subject.

Fahlbusch-Wald has made guest appearances at several opera houses, including Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Kassel, Mannheim, Essen and Wiesbaden and sang the roles of Eboli in Verdi's Don Carlos , Kundry in Parsifal by Richard Wagner, Marie in Alban Berg's Wozzeck and the Knusperhexe in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel .

With her broad repertoire of works by Bach , Beethoven , Mozart , Mahler , Verdi and Wagner , she was a soloist with numerous orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony and the Bamberg Symphony. Concert tours have taken her to Italy, France and Austria.

In later years she worked as a teacher and taught young singers in her private singing class.

Since 1974 she was married to Rudolf Fahlbusch , a neurosurgeon. The marriage resulted in two sons.
