action

Hannah and Rachel grew up together in a small town in the United States . Their love for one another ran into major obstacles in their personal environment. Hannah turned into an adventurous and travel-loving lesbian , while Rachel settled for a quiet life as a housewife and mother. In leaps and bounds, the film tells of her eventful life and love.

The elderly Hannah now lives on a wheelchair in a tiny room in the old people's home. She used to travel all over the world, but now she depends on outside help. In addition, her long-time friend and lover Rachel is in a coma in a neighboring room , from which she will never wake up. As if that wasn't bad enough, Rachel's daughter Marge also forbids her to visit her mother. It almost breaks Hannah's heart that she is not allowed to say goodbye to her lifelong mate.

She remembers many beautiful and less beautiful experiences with Rachel, whose 30-year-old ghost often appears to her. Hannah writes a diary, frustrated by her existence as a “prisoner of the old people's home”. With the help of young Greta, who visits Hannah in the nursing home and makes friends with her, Hannah can visit Rachel at night when Marge is not sitting by her bed. It turns out that Greta is Rachel's great-granddaughter, whom Hannah only knew as a child. Also lesbian, Greta stands up for Hannah and Rachel and finally gets her grandmother Marge to say goodbye to Rachel together with her and Hannah.
