Hannah Maud Hart (born November 2, 1986 in Burlingame , California ) is an American web video producer , actress, and writer . She runs several YouTube channels and is best known for her web show My Drunk Kitchen , where she cooks while drunk.

Life

Hannah Hart grew up as the second of three sisters in Burlingame, California. Her parents separated in her childhood, Hart grew up with her mother, who was increasingly suffering from schizophrenia . She studied English literature and Japanese at UC Berkeley and in Japan until 2009. She then worked as a proofreader for a translation company, first in San Francisco and then in New York. This move was also the reason for Hart to publish her first YouTube videos: a friend from San Francisco asked her to film herself getting drunk and cooking. The resulting video, My Drunk Kitchen Ep. 1: Butter Yo Shit , went viral; Hart gave up her old job after a few months to focus on web video production and moved to Los Angeles in 2012. At the time, she published the web series Coming Out , in which she discusses her own coming out and her experiences as an openly gay woman.

In 2014, Hart's first book, My Drunk Kitchen , was published as a “parodic self-help cookbook” according to his own statements. In the same year she played a leading role in the film Camp Takota , which she also co-produced.

In 2016 she played the role of Dyna Girl in Electra Woman and Dyna Girl , a remake of the series of the same name from the 1970s, alongside Grace Helbig . In addition, her second film Dirty 30 was released , in which she was also seen together with Grace Helbig and Mamrie Hart. In October 2016, Hart published her second book, Buffering , in which she looks back on her previous life and deals with, among other things, her mother's mental illness, her relationship with her father, a Jehovah's Witness , and her own homosexuality.

Starting in August 2017, a six-part series called "I Hart Food" was broadcast on the US television channel Food Network , which was produced and presented by Hart.

Hart is engaged to web video producer Ella Mielniczenko, who works for media company BuzzFeed .
