Hanne Dyveke Søttar

Hanne Dyveke Søttar (born August 16, 1965 in Vefsn ) is a Norwegian politician of the right-wing Fremskrittspartiet (FrP). She has been a member of the Storting since 2017 .

Life

Søttar attended secondary school until 1983, where she focused on the machine and installer sector. Between 1990 and 1992 Søttar was chairman of the youth organization Fremskrittspartiets Ungdom (FpU) in the province of Nordland . From 1991 to 1995 she sat in the Fylkesting of Nordland. Between 1995 and 1999 she was a member of the Rana local parliament . In the legislative period from 2003 to 2007, she finally sat on the Trondheim City Council . At the same time, she was a member of the Fylkesting of the then Sør-Trøndelag province from 2003 to 2011 .

From 1992 Søttar worked, among other things, as an employee in the PR industry and customer service. From 2000 to 2004 she studied history part-time, from 2005 to 2010 she finally studied law at the University of Oslo . She then worked as a lawyer and real estate agent.

Søttar was from 1997 to 2009 so-called Vararepresentantin , i.e. possible substitute MPs, in the Norwegian national parliament in Storting . Until 2001 she was elected for the constituency of Nordland, then for Sør-Trøndelag. During her time as a vara representative, however, she was not used for a long time. In the 2017 parliamentary elections , she finally moved directly to Storting for the first time; she ran again for the Nordland constituency in the election. Søttar first became a member of the Control and Constitutional Committee and moved to the Labor and Social Committee in January 2018, before returning to her original committee in January 2019. In January 2020 she became part of the Education and Research Committee. In the period between October 2017 and September 2018 she was also a member of the parliamentary group chairmanship of the FrP group.
