The Hanne Marie is a wooden gaff ketch that was built as a shark cutter on Fanø in 1919 .

The ship served as a fishing vessel until it in the 1970s in Esbjerg ( Denmark was made) out of service. After a restoration phase from 1980 to 1990, Hanne Marie was transferred to an association based in Bielefeld . The departure base of Hanne Marie since 2004 Greifswald . There she is operated by the "Hanne Marie Segeln eV" as an approved traditional ship . Starting from the museum harbor Greifswald, sailing trips are mainly undertaken in the western and southern Baltic Sea . The aim is to preserve traditional sailing .
