Hannes Bardach

Hannes Bardach (born March 24, 1952 in Vienna ) is an Austrian entrepreneur .

Education & Scientific Activities

Hannes Bardach studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Vienna . After his graduation in 1976 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Data Processing. Until 1992, Bardach held lectures on "Distributed Microprocessors".

At the same time, he worked as a consultant, published in professional journals and gave lectures at specialist conferences and seminars.

Entrepreneurial career

In the course of his consultancy work, Bardach came into contact with Frequentis in 1983, which he took over as managing director in 1983 and as sole owner in 1986 as part of a "management buy-out" initiative. Under his leadership, Frequentis developed from a small Viennese company into a global company with outstanding recognition and many international awards. After 35 years in the Frequentis management, Bardach moved to the Frequentis Supervisory Board in April 2018. As chairman of the supervisory board, he works closely with the management board.

Bardach has been a member of the supervisory board of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) since 2004, and a member of the supervisory board of MTB Holding since 2018.

Honors and prizes

In 1997 he received the Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria .

In 2006 Bardach was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Vienna University of Technology . The reason for the award was his outstanding technical and scientific work and innovative contributions in relation to digital signal processing, voice communication and voice transmission for air traffic control systems as well as his longstanding association with the Institute for Computer Technology at the Vienna University of Technology.

In the same year Bardach was also awarded the Wilhelm Exner Medal of the Austrian Trade Association.
