Hannes Pohlit

Hannes Pohlit (born August 21, 1976 in Heidelberg ) is a German composer, pianist and conductor.

Life

Hannes Pohlit grew up in Rhineland-Palatinate and from 1992 to 1995 - together with his brother Stefan Pohlit - received his first composition lessons from Róbert Wittinger . After graduating from high school, he studied composition with Hans Zender (Frankfurt am Main) and Reinhard Pfundt (Leipzig), conducting with Gert Bahner (Leipzig) and Gunter Kahlert (Weimar) and music theory with Gesine Schröder (Leipzig). After three years as a répétiteur and conductor at the Erfurt Opera House , he founded the “ensemble leipzig 21” in Leipzig in 2006, a special ensemble for contemporary music, and conducted concerts with the Jena Philharmonic and the Thuringian Philharmonic Gotha-Suhl. From 2010 to 2015 he was teaching music theory at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig . Since 2017 Hannes Pohlit has been a full-time lecturer for score playing and score studies at the Institute for Conducting and Opera Coaching at the Liszt School of Music Weimar . Hannes Pohlit's works have been published by Friedrich Hofmeister Musikverlag since 2013 . As a pianist, Hannes Pohlit stood out primarily with works by Franz Liszt and with his own works, and gave piano recitals in the Leipzig concert series " Blüthner Classics". In summer 2014 he was invited as composer in residence to that of Hans Werner Henze founded Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte of Montepulciano , where among other things, his Sinfonietta for large orchestra Il Vento ( The wind ) under the direction of Roland Böer came to the premiere. For the new production of JW Goethe's Faust at the Thuringian State Theater Rudolstadt, he created a new symphonic drama music in 2014/15. Hannes Pohlit has lived in Leipzig since 1998.
