Oliver Weder
Oliver Weder (* 1963 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German conductor .
Life
Oliver Weder studied conducting at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts with Jiří Stárek , Bernhard Kontarsky and Rolf Reinhardt . While studying, Weder worked as a music critic for the features section of the Frankfurter Rundschau for a total of eight years . In 1992 he was the first West German scholarship holder to go to the St. Petersburg Conservatory for postgraduate studies with Ilja Musin and Vladislav Tschernuschenko .
A first engagement led Weder to the State Opera and Ballet Theater Perm for two years as 1st Kapellmeister . (Including first performance of Richard Wagner's Der Fliegende Holländer in Russian). In 1994 Valery Gergiev brought the young Kapellmeister to the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg as an assistant for the German repertoire . At the same time, Weder worked from 1994 to 1997 as chief conductor and lecturer at the Rimsky-Korsakow Theater of the St. Petersburg Conservatory.
Nomination for the Theater Prize of the City of St. Petersburg for a production of WAMozart's “Cosi fan tutte”, assistants for Mariss Jansons (La Bohème - St. Petersburg) and Hartmut Haenchen (Richard Wagner's “ Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg ” at the Amsterdam and Mahlers Opera 8th Symphony at the Concertgebouw ). Opera productions for the Savonlinna Opera Festival / Finland and South Korea .
Since 1997, Weder has been chief conductor of the Thuringian Symphony Orchestra in Saalfeld-Rudolstadt and music director at Theater Rudolstadt . Guest conductor led him to the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra at the National Theater , the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra Konstanz , the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn , at the Theater Trier , Magdeburg and Mainz , to Milan , Lisbon , Porto , San Jose (California) , Mexico , South Korea , according to Poland and Switzerland .
Since 2009, Oliver Weder has been a member of the district council in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district and chairman of the board of trustees of the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt community foundation .
