Rolf Reinhardt
Rolf Reinhardt (born February 3, 1927 in Heidelberg ; † February 21, 2006 ) was a German pianist , conductor and university professor .
Life
Reinhardt studied piano and composition with Frieda Kwast-Hodapp and Wolfgang Fortner . Rolf Reinhardt initially worked as Kapellmeister in Heidelberg , Darmstadt and Stuttgart . He then worked as an assistant in Bayreuth for several years .
In 1958 Rolf Reinhardt became general music director of the Palatinate Opera in Kaiserslautern . In 1959 he moved to Trier as general music director .
1968 Reinhardt received a reputation as a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main , where he later took over the management of the subjects Opera and Performing Arts.
He also worked as a conductor at the Frankfurt Opera and the Frankfurt Bach Orchestra. From 1973 to 1982 Reinhardt was also the artistic director of the Bach Society in Cologne .
Prof. Rolf Reinhardt was also known as a song accompanist and chamber musician. He has made numerous records, for example with Fritz Wunderlich .
