Hannes cloth

Hannes Tuch (born November 2, 1906 in Meschede , † September 12, 1986 in Lennestadt ) was a German forester and writer.

Life

The Femhof, the former home of Josefa Berens-Totenohl

Tuch was born the son of a cook in Meschede and spent his childhood and youth in Laer . He made extensive trips all over Europe, but also to the North Cape and Africa, in his homeland he was engaged in archaeological studies. He became a forester in the Schwedenbusch forester's house on the edge of the Warburger Börde .

After his retirement in 1969 he returned to the Sauerland . There he bought the former home of Josefa Berens-Totenohl , the "Femhof". Tuch wrote her biography, which appeared posthumously in 2000.

Awards

Federal President Heuss awarded the cloth The Horst of the Big Birds 1955 as the best animal book. The UNESCO praised the book.
