Hannes and the mayor
Hannes and the Mayor is a loose sequence of Swabian folk theater scenes that is particularly successful in south-west Germany.
history
Hannes and the Mayor has been performed in the "Komede-Scheuer" of the Mäulesmühle in Siebenmühlental near Leinfelden-Echterdingen by the comedian duo Albin Braig and Karlheinz Hartmann since 1985 . The two actors speak a more or less pure Swabian . The scenes have been broadcast by Süddeutscher Rundfunk (now Südwestrundfunk ) since 1994 . A single episode is about 30 minutes long and usually contains two skits, occasionally only one. The recording takes place in front of an audience in the Leonberg town hall .
Since the TV recording started, Mr. Stumpfes Zieh & Zupf Kapelle , a Swabian music group, has also been part of the episodes. The dialect musicians create the breaks between the scenes with musical pieces on often improvised musical instruments, for which they sing songs in Swabian dialect. They also accompany Hannes and the mayor on their appearances in many cities in Baden-Württemberg.
In addition to the regular 30-minute programs, there are also 90-minute BestOf programs, mostly on public holidays or on special occasions. The skits are framed by short play scenes by the paramedic Eberhard (Karlheinz Hartmann) and the fireman Heinz (Albin Braig), who are in the backstage area of Hannes and the mayor's backdrop.
Hannes and the mayor have many parallels to the comedian duo Häberle and Pfleiderer . In this one, Oscar Heiler plays Häberle, who feels superior to Pfleiderer. Like the mayor, he tries to speak standard German and fails just as often as the mayor. The Pfleiderer, played by Willy Reichert , embodies, like Hannes, the sly, peasant-savvy Swabian who initially seems inferior to his counterpart, but in the end regularly remains victorious.
action
place
The action takes place in a town hall in Swabia. The skits are about an arrogant mayor ( Karlheinz Hartmann ) and his rascal messenger Hannes ( Albin Braig ). Whenever problems arise in the town hall, the mayor calls his messenger into his office with the words: “D'r Hannes should reikomma”.
Schnapps
Another important role in almost every episode is played by the “schnapps”, of which several are often drunk, so that sometimes both are drunk. Hannes often accepts the invitation to a schnapps with the words "I don't hear myself saying 'no'". Occasionally the mayor gives out one at the beginning (quote from the mayor: "Hannes, up, me drenkat a Schnäpsle zom sober werra!").
In his function as a loyal official messenger, Hannes often has to transport his boss home from the Ochsen inn . As a rule, he then pushes him in a wheelbarrow, which the mayor cannot fully remember the next day.
people
The mayor is portrayed as a choleric character who seeks recognition. He sees himself as superior to Hannes, but always draws the short straw in the end. Frequent themes in the sketches are attempts by the mayor to make a name for himself, for example in speeches, naming a street after him or inviting the state government to the New Year's reception. Just as often, however, it is about the consequences of excesses caused by excessive alcohol consumption. The mayor often tries to gain advantages through his position, such as designating his swampy meadows as a building area. Such things are relentlessly exposed by Hannes.
Hannes' favorite pastime is to spend his free time at the Gasthof Ochsen, which causes him financial worries, since the salary is over before the end of the month. Therefore, he often tries to get a raise or a grant from the mayor. He also attends adult education courses, which are then also the subject of skits, such as yoga or role-playing games.
Other running gags are phone calls by the mayor with employees in the town hall, but above all with his wife, whom he always calls "Schatzilein" while she calls him "Bärle", and with "Schoofseggl" Fritz, his colleague from the neighboring village of Schriedingen , the district administrator and the prime minister . There is a rivalry with Schriedingen. Very often the community of Hannes and the mayor pulls the short one, as in the reenactment of a historical battle in which the water barrel was replaced by schnapps.
The widow Hutzler, who apparently does not seem averse to an adventure with Hannes, the pastor, with whom the mayor often meets at the ox to drink together, and the sergeant Reule, whom Hannes is already with, also play an occasional role drove the mayor through town in a wheelbarrow. The pastor is constantly at odds with Hannes, because Hannes repeatedly “ cleans the bells ” and more than once receives “goddamn oins an d 'Gosch na”.
Ms. Kurrle, who is never seen herself, works at the auditing office, but also seems to be the mayor's secretary. In several episodes the mayor says: "Ms. Kurrle, please send Hannes in for me." In several episodes, the other town hall staff is also mentioned, including Messrs. Böckle from the post office, Fingerle from the fund office, Hämmerle from the registry office, Osterberg from the civil engineering office and also the women Walz from the property office, Thalmann from the civil engineering office, Schubert from the registration office, Finkbeiner etc. Often the names of these employees have onomatopoeic properties.
Occasionally, potential opponents of the mayor are mentioned, such as B. the ox host or a local council that has stood up against the mayor. Furthermore, the pharmacist Müllerschön is occasionally referenced.
Nevertheless, only Hannes and the mayor appear in the scenes themselves. Third parties are almost never present on stage as a person. Exceptions are the episodes in which the musicians from Mr. Stumpfes Zieh & Zupf Kapelle have an appearance - here a piece of music corresponding to the current episode is performed for the finale.

Individual evidence
- ↑ "Komede" is spoken in Swabian roughly like Komméde . The Swabian word is not the same as the High German "comedy". Rather, it has the meaning of "mess", "hustle and bustle", "excitement".
