Hanns-Ekkehard Plöger
Hanns-Ekkehard Plöger (born May 30, 1938 in Berlin ; † May 20, 2005 ibid) was a Berlin lawyer and notary who also became known outside Berlin as a joint plaintiff in the Honecker trial . The lawyer from Berlin-Lichtenrade has been described by the tabloid press as "Berlin's most dazzling lawyer", "avenger of the dead of the Wall" and "star lawyer".
Life
Plöger was an attorney for the accessory prosecution in the Politburo trial against Egon Krenz , Günter Schabowski u. a. as well as in the trial against Erich Honecker . Here he caused a stir when he questioned Honecker's identity. He also expressed doubts about Honecker's cancer and proposed that Honecker was instead infected by a fox tapeworm .
Plöger was not only known for his penchant for colorful clothing in the courtroom, but above all for his dispute. In February 2002 he filed a criminal complaint against the Federal Government and the Bundesbank for negligent bodily harm and negligent exposure to toxins due to the toxic substance TBT ( tributyltin ) found in German ten euro banknotes by the Öko-Test magazine . Previously, in 1999, in the course of the new building of the Apostolic Nunciature in the Neukölln district, he had unsuccessfully filed a lawsuit against Pope John Paul II .
Plöger had been a member of the Pegnese Flower Order since May 1st, 1995 . He was also President of the Berlin Motor Yacht Association, the Berlin Volleyball Association and 1997–2001 Vice President of the German Motor Yacht Association , as well as a member of the supervisory board of 1. FC Union Berlin . The lawyer also worked as a poet, in his Magnus publishing house he published several volumes of poetry under the title Tryst with related souls .
