Hanns HF Schmidt

Hanns HF Schmidt (born July 4, 1937 in Walkenried ; † September 26, 2019 ) was a German writer, composer and painter.

Life

After studying music and mathematics in Halle, Schmidt worked as a math and music teacher until he started working as a writer in 1965. Since 1953 he has been active as a journalist in newspapers and magazines. He was the author of children's radio plays and numerous book publications on the history of Central German culture, art and literature as well as collections of regional stories and legends. In the 1970s he published literary reports on his hikes through the Harz Mountains , the Magdeburg Börde and the Altmark . In his last books the life of ordinary people was central. Hanns HF Schmidt lived in Magdeburg and Püggen , where he ran a puppet theater in a farmhouse.
