Hanns Ostermann

Hanns Ostermann (* 1953 ) is a German journalist .

Life

After graduating from high school , the son of a Protestant pastor studied sports science , German and journalism at the Free University of Berlin . After an internship at Radio Bremen , he initially worked as a freelancer for the local radio of the SFB and the sport of the RIAS , where he was responsible as a reporter for the Bundesliga games of Hertha BSC . As a hockey reporter he covered the Olympic Games in Sydney . Between 1988 and 2018 he was a permanent editor and presenter at RIAS, which became Deutschlandradio Kultur after German reunification . His journalistic focus was the moderation of current political programs and the sport feature "Nachspiel", which illuminates the background of the sport.

Since 1990 he has been involved in the “Church and Sport” working group on a voluntary basis, where he moderated events within the German Evangelical Church Congress until 2015 . Since 2006 he has been the first chairman of the Association of Sports Journalists Berlin-Brandenburg. From 2012 to 2016 he was a lecturer at the German School of Journalism in Munich.

For his contributions he has been awarded the "Herbert Zimmermann Prize" several times by the Association of German Sport Journalists (VDS). In 2004 he received the Radio-Journal-Rundfunkpreis.
