Hans-Arno Jacobsen

Hans-Arno Jacobsen (* 1969 in Germany ) is a German computer scientist .

Jacobsen studied at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Diploma 1994) and at the Humboldt University Berlin , where he received his doctorate in 1999. Before that he was also a scientist in Grenoble (LIFIA), Strasbourg and Berkeley ( University and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory ). As a post-doctoral student he was at INRIA in Paris and from 2001 at the University of Toronto , where he was given a full professorship in computer science and computer engineering in 2009. He was also a visiting researcher at IBM in Canada. In 2011 he received a Humboldt Professorship at the Technical University of Munich. There he is at the chair for business informatics and represents the area of ​​applications and middleware systems.

Jacobsen developed systems for process management in company applications , service software, event processing, middleware with modern hardware components such as FPGAs and general methods for large, scalable, reliable and secure distributed applications. He also deals with energy-efficient hardware and software.

He holds several patents and has worked for Bell Canada , Computer Associates , IBM, Yahoo! (PNUTS) and Sun Microsystems .
