Hans-Christian Dietrich

Hans-Christian Dietrich (born August 9, 1869 in Wildenberg ; † February 5, 1950 in Hof Zaglach near Oberaudorf ) was a German bank manager and university professor.

Life

After graduating from high school in Erlangen in 1887, Hans-Christian Dietrich studied law at the Universities of Erlangen and Munich. In Erlangen he became a member of Corps Onoldia in 1888 . In 1891 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD. After taking the assessor examination in 1894, he became a Bavarian public prosecutor and later a district judge. In 1900 he left the civil service and became an authorized signatory of the Bayerische Vereinsbank. In 1902 he was appointed deputy and in 1905 full board member of the bank. He held the management board mandate until 1938. He took part in the First World War as a company and battalion commander and finally as a major in the Landwehr.

From 1908 on, Dietrich was a member of the supervisory bodies of a total of 60 companies. As a banker, he promoted the rise of the small Nuremberg manufacturer Fritz Neumeyer, the founder of the Zündapp plants, to become a major German industrialist. In 1911 he became chairman of the supervisory board of the Kolbermoor cotton mill . He played a key role in the formation of the Kolbermoor-Union AG, an amalgamation of various South German full tree spinning mills. He was Vice President of the Munich Chamber of Commerce and Industry, member of the board of the Central Association of the German Banking and Banking Industry and a member of the committee of the Industry and Trade Conference.

In 1923 the Technical University of Munich gave him a teaching position in banking and in 1929 appointed him honorary professor.
