Hans-Dieter Brüchert (born August 18, 1952 in Jarmen ) is a former German wrestler and silver medalist at the 1976 Olympic Games .

Career

Hans Dieter Brüchert started wrestling in 1967. After the first major successes in the children's area, he was delegated to the children's and youth sports school in Luckenwalde in 1969 . At SG Dynamo Luckenwalde , coaches Helmut Börner, Reinhard Mehlhorn and Wolfgang Brösicke took him to the world leadership in free style. Hans-Dieter won his first GDR championship title in 1974 in bantamweight.

Hans-Dieter also made his debut on the international wrestling mat in 1974. With medal wins at the European Championships in Madrid , where he won the silver medal, and at the World Championships in Istanbul , where he won the bronze medal, this was extremely successful.

In 1975 Hans-Dieter Brüchert only competed in the World Championships in Minsk , but retired after the 3rd round. 1976 was another very successful year for Hans-Dieter. First he won the bronze medal at the European Bantamweight Championships in Leningrad and then he won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Montreal . For this success he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit. In Montreal he defeated u. a. László Klinga from Hungary and Risto Autovermietung from Yugoslavia , to whom he had lost at the European Championships in Leningrad and the World Championships in Minsk. Only the Soviet athlete Wladimir Jumin could not get past Hans-Dieter Brüchert. His loss to this wrestler in the Montreal final was his fourth loss to him in an international championship.

In 1977 and 1978, Hans-Dieter Brüchert only competed in the World Championships. While he was eliminated after the second round of the 1977 World Cup in Lausanne , he achieved two victories in Mexico City in 1978 . That put him in 7th place.

After 1978, Hans-Dieter Brüchert was replaced by Bernd Bobrich in the GDR . In other international championships he was no longer at the start. He completed a pedagogical training and is still working as a teacher today.
