Hans-Eberhard Ross

Hans-Eberhard Roß (born April 26, 1962 in Wiesbaden ) is church music director and cantor of the Evangelical Lutheran Dean's Office in Memmingen . As organist, he looks after the large Goll organ in the main church of St. Martin .

Hans-Eberhard Roß was born on April 26, 1962 in Wiesbaden. He grew up in Fulda, where he received his first organ lessons from church music director Manfred Kroh . During his studies at the University of Music in Würzburg , he received first prize in the competition of the Würzburg Music Academy in 1985. He took his A-exam in 1986 and his master class diploma in 1990 with Günther Kaunzinger .

From 1987 to 1990 he worked as a cantor and organist in Meerbusch before moving to Memmingen in 1991. There he has been Dean of St. Martin's since 1991. He held the teaching position for artistic and liturgical organ playing at the Folkwang University in Essen from 1999 to 2001. In 2002 he was appointed church music director. Since 2008 he has been the church district commissioner in the church district of Swabia.

Hans-Eberhard Roß works internationally as a concert organist and in duo formations with organ and trumpet, organ and percussion, organ and alphorn, organ and recitation. He has already made numerous CD recordings, including the world's first complete recording of all organ and harmonium works by César Franck on six CDs, for which he received the Super-sonic Prize from the music magazine pizzikato .
