Historic cast over the Chetwynd Viaduct

On September 8, 1985, Hans-Georg Bohlken threw a 28-ounce Klootkugel over the 91-foot high railway bridge near Cork (Chetwynd Viaduct). Since the bridge was built in 1849, no thrower had succeeded in throwing a ball of this weight. The prize money for Bohlken was 5,000 Irish pounds. George Kelly from University College in Cork subsequently analyzed the throwing curve.
