Hans Georg Zapotoczky

Hans Georg Zapotoczky (born September 24, 1932 in Linz , † July 3, 2010 in Graz ) was an Austrian psychiatrist , emeritus university professor and former head of the University Clinic for Psychiatry at the University of Graz . Zapotoczky was a founding member and chairman of the Society for the Promotion of Mental Health .

Career

After graduating from the Humanistic Gymnasium on Spittelwiese in 1952, he studied at the Medical Faculty of the University of Vienna , where he received his doctorate in 1958. He came to the University Clinic for Psychiatry and Neurology in Vienna in 1961 and completed his habilitation in 1976 with Hans Hoff . After stays abroad, Zapotoczky was appointed full professor at the Medical Faculty of the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz in 1991, where he took over the newly founded psychiatric clinic, where he was a member of the board until his retirement in autumn 2000.
