Hans-Juerg Käser

Hans-Jürg Käser (born September 6, 1949 in Langenthal ) is a Swiss politician of the FDP and was government councilor of the canton of Bern from 2006 to 2018 .

Life

Käser attended the schools in Langenthal and completed the Matura type E at the canton school in Olten . From 1968 he studied philosophy and history at the University of Bern . This was followed by stays abroad in Montpellier , Dijon and the United Kingdom . Afterwards he was a secondary teacher in Küssnacht am Rigi and Langenthal and finally from 1990 to 1994 rector of the lower grammar school in Langenthal.

From January 1, 1995 to May 31, 2006 he was the full-time mayor of Langenthal. At the same time he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern from 1998 to 2006 , the last two years of which as President of the FDP parliamentary group . From June 1, 2006, he was a member of the government of the Canton of Bern and headed the police and military directorate. He retired on May 31, 2018.

The political platform of the Swiss Security Association appointed Hans-Jürg Käser as the exercise leader for Security Association Exercise 19.
