Hans-Jürgen Horn
Hans-Jürgen Horn (born February 20, 1936 in Düren ) is a German classical philologist .
Life
Hans-Juergen Horn studied from summer semester 1956 first school music at the Cologne University of Music , but joined the Classics and in 1964 with a thesis Hippias maior : Studies on the authenticity question of dialogue doctorate . Horn then worked as a research assistant for classical philology at the University of Cologne . On May 13, 1970 he achieved his habilitation with the work The Aristotelian Understanding of Metaphor on the theory of metaphor in New Criticism . In 1975 he moved to the University of Mannheim as a full professor , where he was active in teaching and research until his retirement (2001).
Hans-Jürgen Horn's research interests include Greek philosophy and the history of the ancient world.
