Hans-Joachim Borzym (born January 7, 1948 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) is a former German rower and trainer .

Borzym was batsman in the men's eighth of the German Democratic Republic at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich . There he won the bronze medal together with Jörg Landvoigt and Bernd Landvoigt .

After retiring from active competitive sport in 1976, he devoted himself to rowing training in the GDR as a trainer. As a trainer he dealt with the measurement boat analysis as well as the planning and implementation of the training. Two years after the fall of the Wall in 1989 , Borzym and his wife Petra Borzym opened a sports shop in Brandenburg an der Havel. In 2006 Borzym went for a year to China , to the provincial selection of the Chinese province of Shandong for the local Rowing National Championships to train. From 2010 to 2013 Borzym went to China again, this time to Liaoning Province. He worked there as the responsible trainer for this province.

Borzym is a member of the Werder Havel rowing club .
