Career

The defender Hans-Peter Miss began his career in the youth of VfL Benrath , where he acted as a goalkeeper and striker. He began his professional career in 1970 when he moved from Union Ohligs from the Niederrhein Association to Karlsruher SC in what was then the second -rate regional soccer league South . Under coach Kurt Baluse and with teammates such as Rudi Wimmer , Eugen Ehmann , Jürgen Weidlandt , Friedhelm Groppe , Günter Fuchs , Hans Haunstein , Horst Wild and Gerd Becker , he played a key role in winning the runner-up with his 19 league appearances and five goals. In the subsequent round of promotion to the Bundesliga, the player who was mostly used in attack or in midfield in Karlsruhe was no longer used.

After only one year Miss moved to the regional league team DJK Gütersloh , where he found his way into defense under coach Horst Franz and in 1972 he moved to the Austrian Bundesliga club Vienna Wien . In Vienna, Miss made 35 games and scored eleven goals. Miss left his club again after a year and switched to regional division Arminia Bielefeld , with whom he qualified in 1974 for the newly created 2nd Bundesliga .

Hans-Peter Miss made his second division debut on August 3, 1974 in a 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund . His first goal followed on October 13, 1974 in a 2-1 win over Schwarz-Weiß Essen . On February 1, 1975, Miss had an accident at the game at Bielefeld's arch-rival Prussia Münster . In the 60th minute of the game he collapsed and passed out. In the hospital, a skull base fracture was diagnosed, which Miss suffered in the first half. Miss ended his career because of the consequences in the summer of 1975.

Hans-Peter Miss later worked as a trainer, including at Bünder SV .
