Hans-Rainer Holst (born October 2, 1943 in Kellenhusen ) is a German manager and former member of the Hamburg Parliament for the SPD .

Professional

After attending secondary school in Hamburg, Hans-Rainer Holst completed a commercial apprenticeship in the export sector. In 1965 he passed the external Abitur in Cuxhaven . This was followed by a degree in economics, sociology and education at the University of Hamburg . In 1970 he made his diploma in economics and in 1972 the exam for higher teaching post.

From 1972 to 1981 he worked as a teacher for economic subjects at a district vocational school and from 1974 to 1978 at a federal research institute .

Holst then became a member of the management team at Coop AG . Hans-Rainer Holst joined the SPD in 1964. In addition to various functions within the party, he was a member of the Hamburg-Mitte district assembly from 1970 to 1974 . In April 1974 he went to the Hamburg parliament as a member and was re-elected several times.
