Hans-Ulrich von Ruepprecht

Hans-Ulrich Freiherr von Ruepprecht (born July 9, 1911 in Stuttgart ; † June 4, 2006 there ) was a German lawyer and heraldist .

Ruepprecht came from an old Bavarian noble family who previously settled in Lindau . Burckhard Bardili is one of his ancestors . His father Otto Freiherr von Ruepprecht was a senior public prosecutor in Stuttgart. In 1929 he graduated from Dillmann-Gymnasium Stuttgart and from the summer semester of that year he studied law at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . In the same semester he renoncen with the country team Scotland , the corporation of his father and later his son. From the summer semester of 1931 he continued his studies, first at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin and later at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich . He graduated in 1937 with the promotion of Dr. iur. with a dissertation on the offense of general life endangerment. After various activities, including as a lawyer, he was appointed judge at the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court in 1957 . In 1976 he retired.

Since 1943 he was a member of the Association for Family and Heraldry in Baden and Württemberg, from 1957 he became its chairman for 34 years. 1973–1977 he was the chairman of the German Working Group on genealogical associations , whose honorary chairman he became in 2001.
