Hans Achorner (born February 20, 1975 in St. Johann in Tirol ) is a former Austrian biathlete .
Life
The trained businessman who lives in Reith bei Kitzbühel was a sports soldier during his active career . He started playing in 1994 and competed for SV Reith near Kitzbühel . 1996 Achorner made his debut in Lillehammer in the biathlon world cup . In a sprint race, the Austrian finished 90th. Two years later in Osrblie he was able to run into the top ten for the first time as eighth in his first season. In the further course of the season, the Austrian relay with Achoner in Lake Placid even reached fourth place. As 17th in the sprint, he was able to win points in a single race for the first time at the next station of the World Cup in Valcartier . It was also Achorner's best individual result.
In 2000 Achorner took part in the European Biathlon Championships for the first time in Zakopane , but could not achieve any results worth mentioning. Since 2001, due to the increasing competition within the Austrian team, he had to compete in the European Biathlon Cup more and more . He ran his best European Championship that year in Haute-Maurienne , where he was sixth in the individual. He also finished seventh in the sprint at the World Military Championships. Achorner competed four more times at European championships. In 2004 as a sprint ninth in Minsk and in 2005 in his last continental fights in Novosibirsk as fifth in the sprint, he was able to achieve good results. The best result in the European Cup he achieved in 2003 as runner-up in the individual from Méribel . The Austrian competed in his last World Cup race in 2004 at Holmenkollen in Oslo , but did not finish in the individual. In 2005 he ended his active career.
