Hans Böhm (politician, 1882)

Hans Böhm (* 14. September 1882 in Munich , † 15. January 1955 in Neuwied ) was a German politician of the SPD .

Life

Böhm was a bookbinder and came to Neuwied as a journeyman in 1901. He had been working as a bookbinder in the Neuwied Raiffeisdruckerei since 1901 (apart from participating in the First World War). His political activity began in 1905 when he joined the SPD. From 1924 to 1926 and again from 1929 to 1933 he held the office of honorary alderman for the city of Neuwied. In this office he supported the then mayor of Neuwied, Robert Krups, in his commitment to the construction of dikes. From 1929 to 1933 he was also a city councilor. In 1944, Böhm was imprisoned as part of the Grid Action .

In 1946 the French military government appointed him to the Advisory Assembly of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate . The following year the people elected him to the first Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . In the state parliament he was a member of the main committee, budget and finance committee, legal committee and rules of procedure committee, from October 12, 1950 legal, business rules and petitions committee, economic and reconstruction committee. In 1951 he left parliament, but his son Hans Böhm moved into the state parliament. Today the Hans-Böhm-Straße in Neuwied reminds of him.

In 1910 he was second chairman of the AOK for the Neuwied district, later chairman of the AOK, member of the supervisory board of Kraftversorgung Rhein-Wied AG.
