Hans Baltruschat

Hans Baltruschat (born November 23, 1921 in Leibgarten , East Prussia , † September 21, 1984 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Baltruschat made an apprenticeship as a carpenter , which he then practiced in his profession. During the Second World War he served in the Navy from 1941 to 1945 until he was taken prisoner of war .

After his release in 1946, Baltruschat joined the SPD. In 1950 he made his master craftsman's examination and became managing director of a timber construction company. In 1952 he moved to the district assembly of Berlin-Kreuzberg . Just two years later he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives, to which he was a member until his election as District Councilor of Kreuzberg in 1965. Baltruschat was a building city councilor for ten years and then again worked as a district councilor from 1975 to 1979.
