Hans Ernst Otto Christian von Rohr

Hans Ernst Otto Christian von Rohr (* approx. 1726 in Mecklenburg ; † 1778 ) was a Prussian colonel and regiment chief of the I. Standing Grenadier Battalion .

Life

He was a member of the Mecklenburg line of the Brandenburg noble family von Rohr . In 1744 he joined the Prussian Army in the Infantry Regiment “von Prussia” . In 1750 he was still an ensign , but advanced to major before the king gave him the vacant grenadier battalion "von Carlowitz" in 1771 . On the spot he was promoted to lieutenant colonel in May 1772 and finally to colonel on May 23, 1775. In the Seven Years' War he was able to distinguish himself in various ways. He died single and without leaving children.
