Hans Bottle (born November 25, 1911 in Düsseldorf , † September 17, 1994 in Bonn ) was a German Romanist , Hispanic and Lusitanist .

life and work

Bottle attended high school in Düsseldorf. He studied in Bonn and Berlin (there with Ernst Gamillscheg and Eduard Wechssler ). Bottle received his doctorate in Bonn in 1935 with the conceptual development of the word ratio and its derivatives in French up to 1500 (Leipzig / Paris 1936). Hans Bottle became a member of the NSDAP on May 1, 1937 . From 1936 he was in Coimbra, from 1939 in library service in Würzburg, from 1950 to 1953 at the Bonn University Library. In 1950 he completed his habilitation in Erlangen with Adalbert Hämel and Heinrich Kuen with About the Genealogy of the Doctrine of the Experience of the Heart. Philological and philosophical studies on the prehistory of Pascal's epistemology and its classification in the French intellectual development . From 1953, Bottle was a professor in Marburg , from 1963 full professor for Hispanic and Lusitan studies at the University of Hamburg .
