Hans Forster (politician)

Hans Forster (born February 5, 1956 in Bremerhaven ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

education and profession

After graduating from secondary school , Forster began training at the Deutsche Bundespost in 1974 and worked as a telecommunications officer from 1979 to 1998 at the Norddeich Radio ( Deutsche Telekom ) coastal radio station .

Forster has been a member of the Deutsche Postgewerkschaft (now ver.di ) since 1975 and a board member of the DGB -Ortskartell Norden since 1989 . Since 1999 he has been chairman of the newly founded DGB-Stadtverband Norden. He is a member of the board of the ver.di municipal association for the north and the surrounding area and has been involved in the staff and works council for several years.

Political party

Forster has been a member of the SPD since 1976. Here he was initially involved with the Jusos . From 1981 to 1990 he was chairman of the Juso-AG Norden, from 1984 to 1991 he was chairman of the Juso sub-district of Aurich (1984 provisional) and from 1989 to 1991 Juso state chairman in Lower Saxony and thus from 1989 to 1991 an advisory board member of the SPD -Landesverband Niedersachsen; since 1981 board member of the SPD local association north; from 1991 to 2007 chairman of the SPD local association north; from 2000 to 2002 deputy chairman of the SPD city association in the north; from 2002 to 2017 chairman of the SPD city association north; since 1984 member of the executive board of the SPD sub-district Aurich; since 2002 deputy chairman of the SPD sub-district Aurich; from 1989 to 2003 member of the district committee of the SPD district Weser-Ems; from 1995 to 2011 member of the SPD party council; since 2002 board member of the SPD district Weser-Ems; from 1996 to 2007 deputy chairman of the working group for employee issues (AfA) in the SPD sub-district Aurich; since 2008 he has been a member of the newly founded state party council of the Lower Saxony SPD. Since the beginning of 2012 he has been a delegate in the newly founded party convention of the Federal SPD. In 2016 he was awarded the Willy Brandt Medal for his longstanding political commitment.

MP

In 1991 he was elected councilor of the city of Norden (East Friesland), most recently confirmed by the local elections in September 2016. From 1996 to 1998 and from 2001 to 2006 alderman of the city of Norden; from 1996 to 2006 deputy chairman and honorary managing director of the SPD parliamentary group in the North City Council; From 1995 to 1996 and from 2001 he was a member of the district council of the Aurich district .

As of 2012, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Sparkasse Aurich-Norden, representing the city of Norden.

Forster was a member of the German Bundestag from 1998 to 2002 . After failing to make it into the Bundestag again in the federal election in 2002 , he moved up on May 12, 2005 for Reinhold Robbe , who was elected as the Armed Forces Commissioner , via the Lower Saxony state list .
