Hans Georg Koch (musician)
Hans Georg Koch (born January 12, 1941 in Krefeld , † September 9, 2005 in Athens , Greece ) was a German musician and composer .
Life
Hans Georg Koch, better known as Hansgeorg Koch, was born in Krefeld, Germany in 1941. In his youth he played with Herbert von Karajan, among others . He studied music and philosophy in Cologne and Salzburg and worked as a composer, arranger and author. On February 2, 1962, he took part in the Bonn stage for sensual perception - KONZIL with his works “Five Little Pieces About BACH”, “Second Piano Sonata” and “Contractions”.
Stations of his work were among others the Schauspiel Frankfurt, the Württemberg State Theater Stuttgart , the Schauspielhaus Bochum . In collaboration with Uwe Jens Jensen as a director and author, he wrote the music for numerous theater pieces, including: Our Republic - A German Singspiel , From today your name is Sara , John Lennon and Elvis and John .
Since 1978 Koch has been responsible for the music of numerous theater productions at the renowned Vienna Burgtheater . He worked with directors Adolf Dresen , Hans Neuenfels , Claus Peymann , Thomas Langhoff , Horst Zankl , Paulus Manker , Peter Palitzsch and George Tabori , among others .
Koch also presented a series of successful recitals with actors from the castle, such as “In the Name of Love” with poems by Peter Turrini , “Elvis and John” or “When I see your eyes”.
In 2004, a radio play by Koch ran on WDR : “Mischpoche or Who is actually Schapiro?” - Koch's estate includes a large number of literary works, in addition to plays and other pieces mainly narrative prose, but also translations of poems by Sappho and Anna Achmatova .
