Hans Georg Pflüger

Hans Georg Pflüger (born August 26, 1944 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ; † March 9, 1999 in Bietigheim-Bissingen ) was a German composer .

Life

He studied composition with Henk Badings and Wolfgang Fortner as well as organ with Karl Richter and Fernando Germani (as a scholarship holder of the Italian government). He also studied song design with Hubert Giesen , conducting with Otmar Suitner as well as musicology, philosophy and art history. From 1950 he lived in Bietigheim-Bissingen . In 1961 he was a prize winner at the piano competition of the German Tonkünstlerverband. In 1977 he received the Rome Prize " Villa Massimo ". He died on March 9, 1999 in Bietigheim.

Pflüger's compositional work includes all important musical genres such as opera, ballet, oratorio, orchestral works, choral works, chamber music and lieder settings.
