Hans Haeckel

Hans Häckel (* 1942 in Munich ) is a German meteorologist .

Häckel studied meteorology in Munich. From 1968 he worked for the German Weather Service in Munich and from 1971 in Weihenstephan . Häckel studied agriculture in Weihenstephan and was awarded a Dr. agr. PhD. Since 1976 he has headed the agro-meteorological advisory and research center of the German Weather Service in Weihenstephan. Häckel had lectureships in meteorology and climatology at the local university of applied sciences and at the Technical University of Munich, and was appointed honorary professor at the latter university in 1988 . In 1985 , Ulmer published his textbook Meteorologie , the eighth edition of which is now available. Numerous writings followed, also aimed at a lay public. In 2004 , Häckel was awarded the Bavarian Minister of Agriculture's plate of honor for his services.
