Hans Hachenberg (born July 11, 1925 in Bergisch Gladbach ; † July 12, 2013 ibid), known as Doof Noß , was a German carnivalist and one of the most popular hand-made speakers at the Cologne Carnival , especially in his hometown of Bergisch Gladbach and the surrounding area .

life and work

As "Doof Noß" (ambiguous: stupid nut or dove nut , in both cases the negative assessment of mental performance is hidden behind it) he embodied the characters of a fool who, as the youngest child of a large family, describes family life and everyday life with punchy lines. The following joke is cited as an example:

En de Scholl would have jemaat de Liehre's experiment.
E Jlas met Wasse, e Jlas met Schabau .
A worm in a water, a worm in a Schabau.
The worm en dämm Wasse wor quecklebendich, the worm en dämm Schabau wor tirek kapott.
Had de Liehre us jefroch: 'What do we learn from it?'
Hann icheldt un jesaat: 'Janz just Mr. Teaching: Who süff kritt keen Würm.'

(The teacher did an experiment at school.
A glass of water, a glass of brandy.
A worm in water, a worm in alcohol.
The worm in the water was alive and well, the worm in the alcohol was gone immediately.
The teacher asked us, 'What do we learn from this?'
I got in touch immediately and said: 'Quite simply, Mr. Teacher: if you drink, you don't get worms.')

For over 60 years, Hachenberg appeared in carnival sessions and was referred to as the Grand Seigneur of the “old school” hand-made speakers. In January 2010 he finally retired from the stage after 65 years for health reasons - the last appearance on a stage took place on January 23, 2010 in the Cologne Philharmonic on the occasion of a carnival matinee of the Bläck Fööss . He had said goodbye to his Bergisch Gladbach audience the day before, at the nostalgia meeting of the Carnival Committee Fidele Ritter von Sand MMVIII , who beat him to the “Equester humoris causa” (“Knight of Humor”).
