Hans Haibel

Hans Haibel (born May 27, 1931 in Augsburg ) is a former German engineer.

Haibel attended secondary school and the engineering academy in Augsburg. In 1953 he became an engineering expert for mechanical engineering at the Rudolf Diesel Polytechnic , also in Augsburg. He then started working as a designer at MAN. Two years later, he moved to the Marquardt company in Friedberg . After this company merged with Goetze AG, he became managing director of Goetze Friedberg GmbH in 1964 . In 1975 he went to HCB Consulting- und Beteiligungs-GmbH based in Friedberg, where he was spokesman for the management, chairman of the supervisory board and, from 1994 on, managing partner.

Haibel was elected chairman of the Aichach-Friedberg industrial and trade committee in 1974 and at the same time was elected a member of the plenary assembly of the Chamber of Commerce for Augsburg and Swabia . He was its president from 1979, after his resignation from this office in 1995 he became honorary president. He was also a member of other boards of trustees and boards as well as the BR Broadcasting Council. From 1992 to 1997 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate , whose first vice-president he was from the end of 1996 until he left.

Haibel is an honorary senator of the University of Augsburg , has been awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit since 1983 and was awarded the EUmerité 2011.
