Hans Heisel

Hans Heisel ( code name: Albert Roche ; born March 6, 1922 in Leverkusen ; † July 12, 2012 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German telegraph officer at the naval staff in Paris and a resistance fighter against National Socialism in the Resistance .

Life

After graduating from school, he completed an apprenticeship as a laboratory assistant. In 1940 he joined the Navy and was most recently a telex chief mate with the Naval Staff in Paris. In 1941 he got in touch with the Resistance and the Travail allemand . In 1942 he organized the formation of an anti-fascist resistance group in the Wehrmacht, among others together with Kurt Hälker . Hans Heisel joined the KPD in Paris in 1942 . In autumn 1943 he took part in the founding of CALPO (Comité "Allemagne libre" pour l'Ouest, "Movement Free Germany in the West") and became its vice-president.

In the run-up to the popular uprising in Paris in August 1944, he and other fighters from his resistance group left the Wehrmacht and joined the military part of the Resistance; Heisel received the battle name Albert Roche . He was one of the insurgents who defended the building of the central committee of the FKP against attacks by German troops. Between September 1944 and January 1945 he was the front commissioner of the CALPO in the French army on the fronts in Lorraine and Alsace and from February to May 1945 he was front commissioner for the Point de Grave kettle.

In July 1945 he returned to Germany. He was employed as a worker and joined the KPD in 1945. In 1947 he became chairman of the KPD's operating group at Bayer Leverkusen and later a member of the party executive of the KPD and the DKP . In 1959, Hans Heisel was sentenced to 15 months in prison for continuing the KPD work . In the state elections in Hesse in 1983 , he ran for the DKP in the constituency of Main-Taunus II , where he won 0.1% of the valid votes.

Hans Heisel lived in Frankfurt a. M. and was still active in the DRAFD , the Association of Germans in the Resistance, in the armed forces of the anti-Hitler coalition and the Free Germany Movement . He was the last living Resistance fighter in Germany.
