Hans Hemmeler

Hans Hemmeler (born August 19, 1915 in Aarau ; † June 6, 2009 there ) was a Swiss lawyer , politician and author .

Live and act

Hans Hemmeler was the son of a businessman and a businesswoman. In 1945 he married Veronika Siegrist. He studied law in St. Gallen and Bern. In 1954 Hemmeler received his doctorate from the University of Bern with a dissertation on the reasons for the loss of the guarantee under Swiss law .

From 1962 to 1981 he was head of the Aargau Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During this time he was President of the Aargauer Elektrizitätswerk from 1965 to 1978. He belonged to the Grand Council as a member of the FDP parliamentary group from 1953 to 1977. From 1966 to 1972 he served as an officer and commander in the Aargau border brigade.

In 1942 his book Die Arbeit am Sandkasten was published by Verlag Sauerländer from Aarau. In 1952, Hemmler published the commemorative publication on the Swiss surgeon, officer and politician Eugen Bircher for the Aargau Patriotic Association .
