Hans Heps
Hans Heps (born January 22, 1915 in Munich ; † 1994 ) was a German architect .
Life
Hans Heps grew up as a half-orphan with his aunt in Glonn - his father was killed in the First World War. He attended high school in Burghausen and Traunstein before starting his studies in Freising . In World War II he was injured and taken to America as a prisoner of war . After his return in 1945 he continued his studies at the Technical University of Munich, which he was able to complete in 1948 as a graduate engineer. He then worked as a government builder in the city building administration.
In 1953 he won the competition for the construction of a new church in Stockdorf and in 1957 another tender for a church in Bayerisch Gmain . In 1959 he became head of the Archbishop's Building Office in Freising. He was responsible for the new construction as well as for the restoration of numerous Catholic church buildings in Bavaria.
