Hans Herrmann (politician, 1924)

Hans Herrmann (born January 9, 1924 in Kaiserslautern ; † September 16, 2002 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary and secondary school, he completed a teaching degree . In 1942 he was an elementary school teacher . From 1942 to 1945 he did military service and was a prisoner of war.

Studies and exams at the curative education department of the Pedagogical Institute of the University of Mainz . From 1948 to 1960 he worked as a special school teacher in Kaiserslautern. In 1960 he switched to teaching at the BBS in Kaiserslautern.

Political party

Herrmann had been a member of the SPD since 1947. He was a member of the SPD district committee of the Palatinate, a member of the education policy committee of the federal party executive committee and deputy chairman of the SPD sub-district Kaiserslautern.

MP

Herrmann was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from October 21, 1967 to April 30, 1971 and from May 18, 1971 to May 17, 1979 . He belonged to the state parliament for three terms. From October 1972 to September 1978 he was parliamentary manager of the SPD parliamentary group. In the 6th electoral term he was from January 29, 1970 chairman of the cultural policy committee. In the 7th electoral term he was chairman of the cultural policy committee until October 16, 1972. In the 9th electoral term he was chairman of the petitions committee and a member of the council of elders, the budget and finance committee and the cultural policy committee.

From 1964 to 1979 he was a member of the Kaiserslautern City Council and temporarily deputy parliamentary group chairman.

In 1974 he was a member of the 6th Federal Assembly .

Herrmann was a member of the GEW in 1946 and a member of the boards of trustees of the State Center for Political Education , the University of Trier-Kaiserslautern and the University of Kaiserslautern . In addition, he was on the board of the Palatinate Association for Free National Education and state chairman of the Association of German Special Schools .
