Hans Joachim Tornau

Hans Joachim Tornau (born November 22, 1923 in Detmold ; † March 20, 2014 in Bad Salzuflen ) was a German farmer , politician and former member of the state parliament ( FDP ).

Life and work

Hans Joachim Tornau attended the local elementary school and then the Leopoldinum grammar school in Detmold . In 1941 he graduated from high school . He was then a soldier in the Wehrmacht from 1941 to 1945. After the end of the war, he was trained in agriculture from 1945 to 1948 . He then worked from 1948 to 1951 as an administrator and from 1951 as operations manager at Gut Vinnen in Lipperland.

MP

In 1956 Tornau became a member of the FDP and was represented in numerous party bodies. From 1964 he was a member of the Lockhausen community council . He was chairman of the Agricultural Association in Schötmar . From July 23, 1962 to July 25, 1970 Tornau was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was elected from his party's national list.
