Hans Joos

Hans H. Joos (born December 31, 1926 in Stuttgart ; † November 18, 2010 in Hamburg ) was a German physicist in the field of theoretical physics .

Joos studied at the University of Tübingen with Gert Molière (1909–1964) and then went to São Paulo and the University of Hamburg , where he received his doctorate in 1961. He then went to the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton , the University of Minnesota and CERN in 1961/2 . From 1962 he was a member of the scientific management at DESY in Hamburg and at times head of its theory group. Since 1965 he was also an honorary professor in Hamburg.
