Hans Karl von Brause

Hans Karl von Brause (born February 17, 1801 in Zeitz , † November 19, 1871 in Berlin ) was a royal Prussian major general and most recently the commander of the 38th Infantry Regiment.

His parents were the general of the infantry Friedrich August Wilhelm von Brause (1769-1836) and his wife Karoline Friederike Sidonie Leisching (1772-1843).

Life

He was a cadet in Dresden from November 1, 1812 to March 28, 1816. From there he went on May 10, 1816 as a musketeer in the 8th Infantry Regiment . On February 1, 1820 he was promoted to Portepeefähnrich and on August 26, 1821 to Second Lieutenant. From June 1, 1824 to September 30, 1825 he was then commanded at the training infantry battalion. He was then used from March 30, 1828 to March 30, 1830 as an adjutant of the 7th Division. From 1834 to 1840 he was a battalion adjutant, during which time he was appointed Premier-Lieutenant on November 19, 1836. On February 20, 1845 he was then captain and company commander of the 8th Infantry Regiment. During the March Revolution he also took part in the street fighting in Berlin. On May 8, 1851, he was promoted to major and on October 15, 1856 to lieutenant colonel. On January 1, 1858, he received the Order of the Red Eagle, 4th class, and on November 22, 1858, he was commissioned to lead the 38th Infantry Regiment. On May 31, 1859 he was appointed commander and at the same time promoted to colonel. On May 25, 1860, he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 3rd Class with Ribbon, and on October 18, 1861, the Order of the Crown, 3rd Class . He was put up for retirement on February 7, 1863 , and he was given the character of major general.

He died on November 19, 1871 in Berlin and was buried on November 22, 1871 in the cemetery in Hasenheide.

family

He married Henriette Franziska Gottschalk († June 2, 1861) in Landsberg an der Warthe on October 30, 1844 . The couple had two children.
