Hans Kellner (* 1913 in Münden ; † April 2, 2008 ) was a German local politician of the SPD .

Live and act

Kellner graduated from the Georg-August-University of Goettingen law . In 1948 he became the first senior district director of the Göttingen district .

Göttingen law

Kellner was, along with his party friend Klaus-Peter Bruns , district administrator of the district of Göttingen, as well as the FDP politician and city ​​director of Göttingen, Erich Heinrich Biederbeck , significantly involved in the creation of the so-called Göttingen law; a course that had a lasting influence on the further development of the city, especially the expansion planning of the university facilities, and is seen as the most important political post-war decision in the city's history. The law saw u. a. the incorporation of the communities Geismar , Grone , Weende and Nikolausberg into the city, which met with fierce resistance, especially from the Social Democrats in Grone and Weende. The compromise found was essentially based on the suggestions and personal commitment of Kellner and Bruns.

District President

On February 16, 1971, Kellner was appointed the new district president in the Hildesheim district, and Rudi Ronge succeeded him as senior district director. In 1978 Kellner resigned from office, and the administrative district was dissolved on February 1, 1978.

Hans Kellner died on April 2nd, 2008 at the age of 95.
