Johann "Hans" Lahr , also Jan Lahr (born January 21, 1913 ; † February 24, 1942 ) was a Czechoslovak and German skier who was active in ski jumping , cross-country skiing and Nordic combined .

Career

Lahr was active at the Harrachsdorf - Neuwelt winter sports club . He started at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1935 in Vysoké Tatry in jumping and in combination. In the individual ski jumping he reached 25th place after jumps on 54.5 and 46.5 meters. In the singles of the Nordic combined he came in sixth. A year later he started at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . In the individual of ski jumping he landed after a weak first run, after he was still on rank 37, at the end of the second run on 32nd place. In the Gundersen singles of the Nordic combined he finished eighth in the jumping after poor mileage in ninth place. At the World Cup in 1938 he started for Czechoslovakia for the last time, and in 1939 and 1941 he started for the German Reich.

On March 2, 1941, he set a ski flying world record with 111 m on the Bloudkova Velikanka in Planica , which was surpassed by other jumpers on the same day.

Lahr fell on February 24, 1942 in World War II .
