Hans Merkt (politician)

Hans Merkt (born June 5, 1915 in Börwang ; † June 3, 1991 ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Merkt attended the Oberrealschule Kempten and spent two years of military service with an infantry regiment in Potsdam . He studied economics in Munich and received his doctorate as Dr. rer. pole. In World War II he was on the Russian front with the 61s, at the end of the war he was deployed as a lieutenant in Yugoslavia and was wounded in the process. From the end of 1945 he worked in the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture . In the same year he joined the CSU, where he was chairman of a local association in Munich. On February 9, 1958, he replaced the late Rupert Berger in the Bavarian state parliament , his mandate was confirmed in the subsequent elections via the list in the constituency of Upper Bavaria , so that he was a member of the state parliament until 1974. At times he was a member of the council of elders.
