Hans Peter Künzle

Hans Peter Künzle (born May 11, 1951 in Winterthur ) is a Swiss jazz musician ( electric bass , double bass ) who headed the jazz course at the Zurich University of the Arts .

Live and act

Künzle grew up in Wangen-Brüttisellen near Dübendorf , where he learned the accordion in kindergarten . At the age of 13 he switched to the electric bass, initially playing blues and rock music . He studied at the Swiss Jazz School as a qualified professional musician. In addition, he completed a classical double bass course at the Winterthur Conservatory with Professor Yoan Goilav. From 1976 he worked as a professional musician and played in rock, Latin and jazz with Kjol, Ursi Baur, OJO, Remo Rau , Christine Jaccard, Bruno Steffen / Heiner Althaus , Marianne Racine , Frets & Heads, Mano or Gabriela Tanner, but also with Reshad Feild ( The Flute Maker ).

Since 1987 he has been director of the Zurich Jazz School; In 1999 he was involved in its transition to the Zurich University of the Arts, where he took over the management of the jazz course in the same year. In 2016 he took over the management of the Swissjazzorama archive in Uster.
